Mark S. Nestor, MD, PhD is a Voluntary Associate Professor of the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University Of Miami Leonard Miller School Of Medicine and serves as Director of the Center for Cosmetic Enhancement® and Director of the Center for Clinical and Cosmetic Research in Aventura, Florida. In addition, Dr. Nestor is Co Chairman of the Board of Directors of Advanced Dermatology Management, a physician practice management company, and a managing partner of Skin and Cancer Associates a group practice of 49 Dermatologists and 30 offices throughout Florida. Dr. Nestor is a past President of the American Society for Photodynamic Therapy, the International Society for Cosmetic and Laser Surgeons, and Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Nestor received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from The State University of New York, his Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology and Immunology from UCLA and his M.D. from UCLA School of Medicine. He completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at UCLA Medical Center and West Los Angeles V.A. Medical center. He completed his Residency in Dermatology at New York University.
Dr. Nestor is recognized as a world expert in topical pharmaceuticals and cosmecuticals, cutaneous laser surgery, photodynamic therapy as well as the use of fillers and toxins in aesthetic medicine and conducts clinical trials on pharmaceuticals and devices used in clinical and aesthetic dermatology.
He conducts Phase I, II, III and IV FDA and Non FDA clinical trials. Dr. Nestor serves or has served on the editorial advisory boards of Skin and Aging, Journal of Cutaneous Laser Therapy, Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery. He has authored over 50 articles and book chapters and has delivered over 600 major presentations. Dr. Nestor has also directed over 50 meetings and symposia on various topics in the field of cosmetic dermatology, laser surgery and practice management. He is the President of SBS Medical Education LLC and Chairs the Annual South Beach Symposium. Dr. Nestor also serves as a consultant to numerous pharmaceutical and device companies assisting them in the development of new medications, devices and cosmecuticals.
